Press On Nails

Application

How are the press-ons attached?

You can attach your BONITIVA press-ons using adhesive stickers or nail glue. Follow these steps for best results:

Preparation:

  1. File your natural nails, gently push back cuticles, remove invisible cuticles at the base of the nail, and lightly roughen the nail surface.
  2. Clean nails thoroughly with the provided cleaning cloth.
TIP: Each press-on nail usually comes in the same size for both hands. Press-ons that are too large can be filed narrower at the edges.

Option 1: Adhesive Stickers

  1. Stick the adhesive sticker with protective film onto the nail and press firmly.
  2. Remove air bubbles at the edges with the rosewood stick and peel off the protective film.
  3. Position the press-on at a 45-degree angle at the base of the nail and slowly lower it with gentle pressure.
  4. Press firmly for about 60 seconds.

Option 2: Nail Glue

BONITIVA offers three types of nail glue:

a) Liquid Glue (standard)

  • Apply a generous amount to the adhesive side of the press-on (and optionally a thin coat on the natural nail).
  • Position the press-on at a 45-degree angle at the base of the nail and lower gently.
  • Press firmly for about 60 seconds.

b) Semi-Solid Glue (no lamp needed)

  • Apply a small amount to the natural nail or press-on.
  • Position and press gently.
  • Hold in place for 15 seconds.

c) Solid Nail Glue (requires UV/LED lamp)

  • Apply to the natural nail or press-on.
  • Position and press firmly, then cure under a UV/LED lamp according to instructions.
  • Note: Dark or thick nails may need longer curing time, and in some cases adhesion may be weaker.

IMPORTANT: Avoid filing the tip of the press-on, as this may break the seal of the top coat. It’s best to file only along the sides if needed.

How long do the press-ons last?

The durability of your BONITIVA press-ons depends on the attachment method and individual nail care:

  • Adhesive Stickers: Usually last around 5–7 days.
  • BONITIVA Nail Glue:

Liquid Glue (standard): Approximately 7–10 days.

Solid Nail Glue (UV/LED cured): Approximately 14 days.

Semi-Solid Glue (no lamp needed): Can last up to 28 days or more.

Factors that may reduce wear time include:

  • Exposure to pool or salt water
  • High stress on the nails
  • Use of oils or creams on nails
  • Frequent contact with harsh cleaning agents
  • Incorrect application or misuse

Is the application also possible without additional accessories, i.e. only with a Press On Box?

YES! Most BONITIVA Press On Boxes contain everything you need for a manicure, and the Press Ons themselves no longer need to be filed. However, it is always helpful to shape your natural nails and roughen the surface before applying the Press Ons – for this you will need a nail file.

Note: Some styles, such as large bulk sets of basic press-on nails (120+ pieces) or eco-friendly packaged press-ons, may not include manicure tools in the box. In these cases, additional accessories like a nail file or cuticle stick will be required for proper application.

How can I avoid air bubbles under the press-ons?

Using Adhesive Stickers:

If you use the included adhesive stickers, apply them carefully to your natural nail. First, stick the sticker with the protective film onto the nail and gently remove any air bubbles using the included rosewood stick or a similar tool. Only after that, remove the protective film and press the press-on nail firmly onto your natural nail.

Using BONITIVA Nail Glue:

Apply enough nail glue to the adhesive side of the press-on nail so that the “cavity” between your natural nail and the press-on is completely filled. You can also apply a thin layer of glue to your natural nail if needed.

Can the adhesive stickers be reused?

No, the adhesive stickers can only be used once, as they lose their adhesive strength afterwards.

How much nail glue should I use?

Depending on the type of BONITIVA glue:

  • Liquid Nail Glue: Don’t skimp on the glue for the press-ons. You can also apply a thin layer to your natural nail if needed. If any glue gets on the edges after applying the press-ons, simply wipe it off with a tissue before it dries.
  • Solid Nail Glue (UV/LED activated): Make sure to fill the entire “cavity” between your natural nail and the press-on nail. This ensures a strong hold and reduces the risk of lifting.
  • Semi-Solid Nail Glue: Usually only a small amount is needed. It adheres very securely and is less likely to create air bubbles.
How often can I use the Press Ons?

If handled properly, BONITIVA press-ons can be reused multiple times.

  • With Adhesive Stickers: You can reuse them as long as they still look good. Before applying again, make sure all old adhesive and any oils are thoroughly cleaned from the underside of the press-ons.
  • With BONITIVA Nail Glue: Press-ons applied with glue can be reused multiple times if removed carefully. Using our BONITIVA Press-On Nail Remover and cleaning all glue residue properly helps preserve the press-ons’ appearance and adhesion. Improper removal may damage the press-ons, so correct cleaning is essential for repeated use.
Why do my press-ons look unnatural?

An unnatural appearance can have several causes:

  • Press-ons are too large: If the press-ons are too big, they may protrude or sit unevenly at the edges, making the nails look disproportionate and affecting the overall impression.
  • Press-ons are too small: Nails that are too small won’t fully cover the nail bed, can create unevenness, and reduce durability.
  • Improper application: Rushing the application or not applying carefully can cause air bubbles under the press-ons or glue overflow at the edges, which negatively affects the final look.
  • Wrong shape for your nails or hands: The chosen shape may not suit you. Take your time to decide whether you prefer short, long, round, pointed, or square nails, and experiment with other shapes if needed.
Why do I need to clean my natural nails before applying press-ons?

It’s important to clean your nails with the included alcohol-soaked cleaning cloth after filing and before applying press-ons. This removes any oily residue from the nail surface and ensures the best possible durability.

If you are using semi solid glue, cleaning is not strictly necessary, as it can adhere well even on uncleaned nails. However, for optimal results and longest-lasting wear, we still recommend cleaning your nails before application.

Why do my press-ons hurt on my nails?

The comfort of press-on nails depends on the natural shape and strength of each nail. Since nail beds vary from person to person, press-ons may not feel comfortable for everyone. BONITIVA press-ons have a slight natural curve to fit closely to your nails.

If your natural nails are very flat, soft, or thin, the press-ons may sometimes create pressure or slight discomfort because your nail is gently shaped to fit the curve of the press-on.

Another common reason is choosing the wrong size. Nails that are too narrow or too wide can press on the edges and cause discomfort. Make sure the press-on only sits on your natural nail, with a small gap of about 0.5–1 mm from your skin and cuticles. Trying a slightly larger or smaller size can also improve comfort.

In some cases, it’s simply a matter of getting used to the sensation. Any initial pressure should usually disappear after 1–2 days.

I have an allergy to gel & Shellac. Are the Soft Gel Press-Ons suitable for me?

No need to worry!

BONITIVA Soft Gel Press-Ons are made from a specially formulated gel that is free from HEMA, DI-HEMA, and benzoyl peroxide, common causes of skin irritation and allergic reactions. They are gentle on the nails and skin, making them a safe choice for people with gel or Shellac allergies.

Can I care for my nails as usual after application?

  • Adhesive stickers: We recommend avoiding nail oils or creams on your natural nails, as they can reduce the adhesion and shorten the wear time.
  • BONITIVA Nail Glue (liquid, semi-solid, or solid): You can care for your cuticles and nails as usual. Proper nail and cuticle care will not affect the durability of your press-ons.
Why are Press-Ons not flexible after application?

BONITIVA Press-Ons are designed to stay firm and maintain their shape while worn—they should not bend with your natural nails. Excessive flexibility would cause them to break, just like natural nails.

Thanks to the gel technology, even after removal, the nails return to their original shape without cracks or breaks, making them particularly durable and reusable. With proper care, your press-ons can be used multiple times.

Can I reuse my press-on nails?

BONITIVA press-ons can be reused if handled properly. To prepare for reapplication:

  1. Gently file your natural nails and push back cuticles.
  2. Remove any glue or residue from the press-ons and clean both nails and press-ons with a cleansing wipe.
  3. Make sure the press-ons are completely dry before reapplying.
  4. Press-ons can be applied with the included adhesive tabs or nail glue—press firmly for best adhesion.
  5. Avoid excessive filing of the press-ons; only file the sides if needed.

With careful cleaning and handling, your press-ons can be used multiple times.

The adhesive stickers do not hold properly

For the best results with adhesive stickers, proper preparation is essential: avoid washing your hands or applying creams/oils about 30 minutes before application. Gently buff the nail surface, push back cuticles, remove any thin layer at the nail base, and clean your nails with the included wipe.

Make sure to choose stickers that match your nail width and place them as close as possible to the nail base. With proper application, adhesive stickers usually last around 7 days. For longer wear, using BONITIVA semi-solid glue can extend durability to 28 days or more.

The adhesive stickers do not fit my nails. Can they be trimmed to fit?

After placing the adhesive stickers on your natural nail, you can easily trim them to match the size of your nail. Then you can remove the protective film and apply your Soft Gel Press-Ons as usual.

Can nail care products be applied after using Press Ons? Would oil or serum negatively affect their durability?

You can use nail serum daily even while wearing the Soft Gel Press Ons. If you have attached the Soft Gel Press Ons with nail glue, their durability will not be affected. However, if you are using the adhesive stickers, the serum may reduce adhesion. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the serum mainly to the cuticles and the natural nail at the edges so that it does not get under the Soft Gel Press Ons.

Nail oil should not be used while wearing the Soft Gel Press Ons, as oil can loosen the adhesive stickers and nail glue. However, it is ideal for nail care after removing the Soft Gel Press Ons.

Can nail polish be applied over the Press Ons?

Applying nail polish over the Soft Gel Press Ons is generally not recommended, as the surface of the Soft Gel Press Ons is already sealed with a top coat and does not provide the same adhesion as your natural nail. This can result in a less durable finish.

Can Gel Strips be applied over the Press Ons?

Applying Gel Strips over the Soft Gel Press Ons is generally not recommended, as the surface of the Soft Gel Press Ons is already sealed with a top coat and does not provide the same adhesion as your natural nail. This can result in a less durable finish.

Can stickers or rhinestones be applied on Press Ons?

Applying nail art over the Soft Gel Press Ons is generally not recommended, as the surface of the Soft Gel Press Ons is already sealed with a top coat and does not provide the same adhesion as your natural nail.

This can result in a less durable finish.

How do I remove my Press-Ons?
Option 1 (Recommended): BONITIVA Nail Glue Remover

This is the safest and most effective way to remove your press-ons — and it allows them to be reused when done properly.

Why we recommend it:

  • Specially designed for safe and easy removal without damaging natural nails
  • Enriched with vitamins to help nourish your nails
  • Acetone-free & eco-friendly formula
  • Effectively breaks down nail glue while keeping nails healthy and hydrated
  • No harsh scraping or excessive soaking needed

How to use:

  1. Apply the glue remover around all edges of the nails.
  2. Use a cuticle pusher or nail stick to gently lift and create a small gap.
  3. Apply more remover and wait about 20 seconds.
  4. Carefully lift off the press-on nail.
  5. Apply remover to any remaining glue and gently remove it.
  6. Finish by cleaning your nails with an alcohol pad.
Option 2: Soaking Method (Common Alternative)

If you don’t have remover, you can use a soak-off method:

  1. Apply nail oil around the edges of your nails.
  2. Prepare a bowl of warm water with a few drops of oil and some soap.
  3. Soak your nails for about 10–15 minutes.
  4. Gently lift the press-ons using a wooden stick.
  5. Repeat soaking if needed until they come off.
  6. Remove any residue and finish with nail care.

Tip:Always remove press-ons gently. Proper removal helps protect your natural nails and allows your press-ons to be reused.

What is the best way to remove press-on nails?

The best and safest way to remove your press-ons is by using BONITIVA Nail Glue Remover.

It is specially designed to gently dissolve nail glue without damaging your natural nails, while helping keep them healthy and hydrated. There’s no need for harsh soaking or forceful removal.

Simply apply, wait a few seconds, and gently lift the press-ons—quick, easy, and reusable-friendly.

Can press-on nails be reused after removal?

Yes! BONITIVA press-ons can be reused multiple times if they are removed and cleaned properly.

For best results, we recommend using BONITIVA Nail Glue Remover to gently take them off without damaging the nails. After removal, make sure to clean off any glue residue and keep the press-ons dry and smooth before reapplying.

Proper removal and care are key to keeping your press-ons looking great for multiple uses.

Can I remove press-ons with the oil bath method after only a few days?

Yes, you can remove your press-ons at any time. If they were applied recently and still feel firmly attached, simply soak them a bit longer and gently lift them with a nail stick.

For easier and safer removal—especially for reuse—we recommend using BONITIVA Nail Glue Remover.

Why should I add remover to the oil bath?

If your press-ons were applied with nail glue, adding remover helps break down the glue more effectively. Combined with warm water, oil, and soap, it makes removal easier and gentler on your natural nails.

For the best results, we recommend using BONITIVA Nail Glue Remover, which is specially designed to dissolve nail glue safely without damaging your nails.

Can I add dish soap to the oil bath?

Yes, you can. Dish soap works similarly to regular soap—it helps oil and water mix better, making the removal process more effective.

Just make sure to use a mild formula, as harsh detergents can reduce the nourishing effect of the oil.

How do I remove adhesive residue from press-ons?

To remove leftover adhesive from the underside of your press-ons, gently lift the edge using a cuticle stick or wooden stick. Then slowly roll or twist the stick so the adhesive wraps around it and comes off easily.

Make sure the surface is clean and smooth before reusing the press-ons.

Colours/Shapes/Sizes

I don’t like the shape of the press-ons. Can I cut or reshape them?

We don’t recommend cutting or heavily reshaping the press-ons, especially at the tips. This can damage the top coat seal and may cause peeling over time.

If needed, you can lightly file the sides for a better fit, but avoid filing the tip to maintain the best appearance and durability.

What should I do with the sizes that don’t fit me?

BONITIVA press-ons come in 16 different sizes to help you find the best fit for every nail. If a nail is slightly too large, you can gently file the sides to make it narrower—this won’t affect durability as long as you avoid filing the tip. Choosing the right size is key to a natural look and long-lasting wear.

Will there be more colors and designs in the future?

Yes! BONITIVA already offers a wide range of colors and designs in different shapes—and we’re constantly expanding our collection.

More new styles are coming soon, so stay tuned!

Will the color look exactly the same as on the website?

Colors may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting conditions (such as daylight vs. studio lighting).

We do our best to show each shade as accurately as possible, but colors can also vary depending on your screen settings, such as brightness or night mode.

Why are longer press-ons thicker?

Longer press-ons need extra strength to stay durable in daily use. That’s why they are designed slightly thicker than shorter styles.

  • More stability: Longer nails are exposed to more pressure (like typing or gripping), so added thickness helps prevent bending or breaking.
  • Better shape retention: A stronger structure helps the nails keep their shape over time.

BONITIVA press-ons are carefully designed to balance durability and a natural look, so you get both strength and comfort.

I noticed a green spot on my nail – what should I do?

First of all, don’t worry—this can occasionally happen with any type of manicure. It’s usually caused by moisture trapped between the natural nail and the press-on, which can lead to discoloration.

We recommend removing the press-ons and keeping the affected nail clean and dry. Allow the area to grow out before applying new press-ons.

To prevent this in the future, make sure your nails are completely dry and properly prepped before application.

If you’re unsure or the condition doesn’t improve, it’s best to consult a healthcare professional.

Why do press-ons vary in thickness?

The thickness can vary depending on the style and shape. Different designs require different structures to ensure durability in everyday use.

Longer styles are usually slightly thicker to provide extra strength and prevent bending or breaking, while shorter styles can be thinner since they are exposed to less pressure.

BONITIVA press-ons are designed to balance a natural look with reliable durability.

Why is there a gap between my natural nail and the press-ons?

In some cases, a small gap can appear if your natural nail shape doesn’t perfectly match the curve of the press-ons.

You can try choosing a different size or gently adjusting the press-on before application for a better fit. Proper application and a snug fit will help improve both the look and durability.
